What is Sender Score?

Overview

Sender Score is a reputation monitor from Return Path. Using algorithms, your Sender Score give you an idea of what your IPs reputation is compared to other senders. The score is based on a scale of 0 to 100, with 100 being the best reputation. If your Sender Score is 85, that means that your reputation is better than 85% of senders.

The scores are based on many factors that ISPs look at to separate Spam from legitimate email. This includes: email volume, Spam complaints, unknown user rates (bounces), spam traps, content and infrastructure (SPF and DKIM). Using their extensive relationships with various ISPs as well as a huge network of subscribers, the Sender Score is a very accurate measure of the way your IP address is being viewed by external ISPs.

How long does it take for my Sender Score to show up?

We will begin warming up your IP as soon as we approve your account. At this time, you will begin sending emails through your new IP address. Depending on the frequency of your mailings, it may take up to 30 days for a Sender Score to be calculated. It takes some time to gather enough information about your email practices, content, user behavior, etc before an accurate score can be generated. If you feel like enough time has gone by, and you still do not see a Sender Score, please contact us.
