W3C validation of Newsberry code
Hi guys,
First of all a big thanks for this service. I've not sent any campaigns yet - still early days, but what I have seen so far is impressive.
I do have a problem though as I am currently validating my website for W3C compliance. There are a number of errors all within the code generated by Newsberry. These are mainly to do with using spaces in the ID's etc. You can see them for yourself by going to http://validator.w3.org/ and entering my website www.clearwatercoaching.co.uk
Whilst the code still works and I have had a few people subscribe using it, it is important for me to have my site validated.
Thanks
Rich

Hi Rich,
It looks like your field names contain spaces which is why the validation issues are happening. We recommend that you use single word Field names, and then you can change the labels directly in your form code.
If you need help, let us know. We'd be happy to assist.

Excellent thank you Natalie,
I take it that the changes won't affect existing subscribers? Not that there
are that many.
I appreciate your help on this.

Hi Rich,
Changing field names does not have an effect on anyone who has subscribed.
Thanks,
Natalie

Natalie,
I have now implemented the suggestion made to have single word field names
and changed the 'text' to show the correct descriptions on my page.
Unfortunately the 'code generator' in Newsberry now seems to generate code
with numeric name and ID tags which is also invalid HTML according to the
W3C as these tags must begin with an 'alpha character'!
Standards eh? I know but they are there for a reason and hopefully make the
internet a better and more consistent space for all of us.
Hope the sun is shining where you are - our has all but disappeared now:(
Regards
Rich

Hi Rich,
Try this: add an "s" to the input ID. Here's an example:
<input id="s9918" name="9918"Natalie
