Are new subscribers automatically confirmed?

Dear Newsberry-staff,

I now sent out my second mailing, this time with a confirmation-link. From now on I only want to write to those confirmed addresses. Two questions:

When someone new subscribes to the list, are they automatically considered as confirmed? Or how do I make sure, that my new (smaller) database only contains confirmed subscribers?

And when I now only write to this smaller list: Does my payment-plan automatically change to a lower level, or do I need to delete my old, much bigger database?

Best regards,

Thomas

    Hi Thomas,

Sending to confirmed subscribers is a sure way to increase delivery rates. Thanks for doing that.

If you are using our subscribe form, each person who signs up will be confirmed once they click on the confirmation link in the email. We double opt-in all subscribers through the subscribe form.

There is a specific option in the Subcribers section to "Deactivate all unconfirmed" subscribers. This will make them inactive and will remove them from the total number of subscribers that we count for your plan limits.

Let me know if that helps.

    Thanks,
    Chris
